FTPE Website

By Leigh Whipday

Finally, after lots of hard work the First Transpennine Express website has gone live. I did all of the design and animation at Code and the illustrations were done by Migy. It’s bursting with colour and fun and certainly not what you’d expect from a train website. We’ll be adding new features in the coming months too so keep checking back for updates.

Check it out here.

Epson Characters

By Leigh Whipday

These are some characters I created for the Epson 40th anniversary microsite we did at Code. They weren’t used in the end but I like them anyway.

Hobnox Audio

By Leigh Whipday

One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen done in Flash. Hobnox Audio is like Reason, but built using Flash. Have a go, it’s ace.

Baby Moviestar

By Leigh Whipday

Woohoo! The Huggies Baby Moviestar microsite I designed and animated for Code recently won a DADI award for ‘Best Campaign Which Became Viral‘. This was on top of the silver it won at this year’s Roses Advertising Awards.

Actionscript was all done by my good friend and Flash hero Stu Hamilton.

Have a look at the site here.

Off with my head

By Leigh Whipday

I was excited to receive my copy of Guidelines for Online Success after hearing so much about it. Beautifully made and full of contributions from some of the world’s best agencies, things were looking good. However, after reading the first 2 chapters I couldn’t help but feel a bit let down…

I was surprised at how little information there actually was on each topic. I mean, how can you cover something like viral in just three paragraphs and three dos and don’ts? Don’t get me wrong, I think the information in this book is very useful. I just thought it might be a bit more extensive rather than being packed full of images.

The good causes section written by Martin Hughes of WEFAIL is very funny though.

Ace processing video

By Leigh Whipday

I know this has been around for a while but I think it’s worth posting incase anyone hasn’t seen it. It’s a video by Robert Hodgin of Flight404 for Radiohead’s Weird Fishes. I already loved the song but strangely I liked it more after seeing this.
